PVAC's Sculpture Garden Once Again Is Awarded Prestigious Rydell Grant for the Visual Arts

  • Content Category:

Congratulations to co-curators Judy Stabile and Jeff Rosendale for the success of our grant application. The generousity of the Rydell Visual Arts Fund at the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County awarding this grant for the 2009 and 2010 Sculpture Garden exhibits enables us to embed the garden, pardon the pun!, into our community as an annual event for visitors to return to again and again.

The Garden was envisioned as a place for high quality outdoor sculpture to have a beautiful venue among the native plants and garden paths at Sierra Azul Nursery and Garden. The Garden has fulfilled this vision and more.

PVAC plans to add some more permanent elements to the Garden and also reach out with publicity to our entire Central Coast and SF Bay Area. The 2008 Garden was a great success and was able to have a "show within a show" in September featuring the works of well-known sculptor Ralph Royer.

Special thanks to Jeff and Lisa Rosendale, owners of Sierra Azul Nursery and Garden, for the generous donation of space and staffing for the exhibit.
