Backyard Renovation & Mandala Installation

In April we installed two 7-foot mandalas into our backyard patio, designed by local artists and PVAC supporters Don & Michele Faia, who generously donated their talents to this project. Michele's mandala uses Egrets to represent the bird life and abundant nature in this area; Don's uses spirals to represent continuous creative and spiritual growth. Professional layout, etching and color staining was done by local technician and artist Tony Salinas, owner of Art In Cement who was commissioned by Ann & Dobie Jenkins. We cannot thank the Jenkins' & Faia's enough!

And now we're beginning the final phase of our backyard renovation: in May, we will begin planting the landscape designs by PVAC president and Sierra Azul owner Jeff Rosendale. The official patio and garden dedication at the Urban Arts exhibit reception on July 10th. Donations are needed for this final phase of the project for plants, sprinklers, planting mix, mulch, and labor! Please click here to donate or contact the Gallery at 722-3062 or email our staff.

Of course, the initial stages of this renovation were made possible by generous donations from  Dobie & Ann Jenkins, their extended Bradshaw families, and another Jenkins-Bradshaw relative, John Curaton, owner of Coast Concrete. The 1000 square foot patio that was installed last summer will honor Ann's mother, Ysabel Curaton Bradshaw and Ann's aunt, Elizabeth Stratton Bradshaw, both accomplished watercolor artists. We cannot thank the Jenkins-Bradshaws enough!
