MISSION STATEMENT:
"Bringing the community together through the arts"

Generous Donations Bring PVAC Close To Goal
We are pleased to announce that, with the generous help of our donors, we have reached 75% of our ADA compliance rennovation fundraising goal. This means that we have completed all the interior remodeling, including new carpeting and flooring throughout the gallery. We now have two restrooms, and one is wheelchair accessible. We have also added new railings to our front steps. Donations are still needed to reach our goal of rennovating and landscaping our backyard.

THE PAJARO VALLEY GALLERY:
How It Works

Each year the Pajaro Valley Arts Council invites guest exhibit curators to create some of the art shows for the gallery. Previous curatorial experience is helpful but not required. Guest curators are assisted with the planning and implementation of their exhibit vision by a mentor assigned to them from the PVAC Gallery Committee. The Gallery Committee consists of previous and current exhibiting artists and curators. Since 1986 PVAC has sponsored guest-curatored exhibits that represent the local community, local arts and environmental organizations, and local and national professional artists. The Gallery contributes to PVAC's mission of "bringing the community together through the arts" through its art exhibits that support cultural diversity, historical perspective and current social and environmental issues.

Guest curators are asked to attend gallery committee meetings prior to their exhibit to share the implementation of their plan, learn from mentors and enlist assistance in the different aspects of exhibit planning and design.

Interested in being a guest curator? Do you have an idea for an exhibit for the Pajaro Valley Gallery? Click on the link below to print an exhibit curator application form. We are now scheduling for 2009.

Become An Artist Member of PVAC

Membership has its advantages. PVAC handles sales of artwork on exhibit on behalf of the artist, including offering VISA and MasterCard purchase options. Members enjoy a 10% lower commission rate than nonmembers— 30% as opposed to 40%.

Plus, as a member, you will receive advance notice of calls for artists, and are eligible for invitationals such as the "Art Is Essential" exhibit currently at Gavilan College Fine Art Gallery running through May 8th.

Not to mention that your membership fees support PVAC's outstanding exhibit offerings, promoting visual arts for education and personal growth and enjoyment for our visitors. All artists benefit from community support when fine arts are display regularly to the public, with free admission. And you as an artist can enjoy affiliations and inspiration that exhibiting and viewing other artists' work provides.
