The EIGHT are Marta Gaines, Al Johnsen, Douglas McClellan, Manuel Santana, Helen Slater, Betty Smith, Carol Summers and Don Weygandt. Alongside portraits of the artists are biographies by art historian Phyllis Peet of each artist.
